1: "People like Jolanta and her neighbours". We see a montage of scenes: A door lock busted, a fusebox with cut wires, piled-up trash indoors near a radiator, a group of dark figures in the doorway. 2: We see the determined stare of the old woman against the light. "Besides raising the rent, the new owners—or, supposedly, 'unknown culprits entirely unconnected to the landlords'—did everything to clean the freshly bought tenement bloc out of its 'meat content'. They would crash out the doors, turn off electricity, drop in garbage. They wouldn't stop at anything to make people's own homes horrid to them." 3: We now see protesters carrying signs, with Jolanta holding one that reads, "Lokator się Liczy" (tenants matter). "Those threats weren't enough to get rid of Jolanta, who founded the Warszawa Community of Tenants and became an activist fighting for their rights. 4: "Jolanta always returned home". We see her about to go into the apartment that her father built. 5: We now see a forest with a police line and some cars in the distance. A news headline reads: "Burnt body found in the Kabackie Forest, police looking for witnesses". It is date March 1, 2011.
