   (also adopted/not related) brother & I—& so many other adoptees—suffered unspeakable trauma in our adoptive homes. We weren’t lucky. We weren’t chosen (we were simply the next in line).

   We managed to survive. All while listening to all of society laud our adoptive parents as selfless saviors.
