   Andrew Jackson sought to "usher in the white man's Republic" by giving non property owning Yeoman the right to vote and it really pissed a lot of people (Thomas Jefferson, most notably) off.
   
   Several million dollars (billions, when adjusted for inflation) were spent on an "anti-jacksonian" campaign when he was running for the presidency.
