For most of my life, I have held out hope that we haven't had women in leadership because we simply had not trained the right ones yet. That it was coming, we just needed time. I was wrong. We choose men. Any man. That man. Even a serial cheating, morally and legally bankrupt, ill mannered, silver spoon trust fund baby is preferred over a woman. Does not matter what her flaws are - they don’t matter. She does not matter. I do not matter. My daughter does not matter. Any man is better. The right women have always been here. Throughout history, in the background, being dismissed, shouted down, or ignored. Being used, but not credited. And the cycle continues.
