The House of the Celi at Pompeii is notable for two reasons. Firstly, it is a rare example of a late Samnite dwelling dating from the 2nd Century BC.
The other notable feature is this stunning garden frescoe which has recently been restored. Depicting hunting scenes and landscapes with Egyptian themes, this victim of years of neglect and misguided restoration shines once again.
