Necomimi illusion: Generating Ownership of Cat Ears through Haptic Feedback via Hair A photo of a VR headset with some doodads stuck on it, captioned: Head-mounted display integrated with soft actuators Rear view of that VR headset being worn, with some sort of plastic tube attached to the wearer's hair, captioned: Haptic feedback is provided by moving the hair attached to the tube. Anime cat person, captioned: Avatar with cat ears Session: Extended Reality (XR) Description: In this demonstration, we developed a device that creates a sense of ownership over imaginary body parts, specifically cat ears. We achieve this through haptic feedback to the head via hair. Participants transform into an avatar with cat ears and experience having their imaginary cat ears stroked.
