Extreme closeup photograph of a white butterfly with its proboscis inserted in between the florets of purple, New England-type aster with out of focus flowers and foliage in the background. White butterflies have white wing backs with a black spot on the lower wings and one to two spots and black upper tips on the upper wings. The wing fronts are plainer and have a slight green coloration with a bit of freckled smudging. The butterfly's body and head are covered in fine white hairs, its compound eyes are a pale blue-green with darker spots, it has six green-white legs, and two, long, black and white striped antennae that end in lighter tips.
