It looks there’s a lot of free building materials available in Tampa area.
The name I give for this is lumbercane. When you look at hurricanes of old. Such as Galveston hurricane. You will see it made enormous amounts of lumber. There’s just lumber everywhere. So I call them lumbercanes when they dismantle everything to lumber.
Let’s take a small history lesson here for those not in the know. You think you’re safe? Error try again. That’s the first thing. Let’s be kind and rewind to what built the nation.
New York 1939.
“over 2.7 billion board feet of trees fell because of the storm, although 1.6 billion board feet of the trees were salvaged.”
1939-1948 we used the lumber to build everything. The vast amount of lumber was large enough not even WWII consumed it. These are the scale of these storms. But also without this incident we would not have had lumber. It’s all about lumber.
The great building boom post WWII was partially fueled by all this lumber. So in a way what we need is another absurd blowdown to make free wood.
Seems odd right? But these are the lessons of history long forgotten that we had positive effects from the catastrophic events. That without this event there would have been major housing shortages with the post war demand.
