A large semi round patch of aurora fills half the sky like a thunderbird with huge train below, or a massive spirit trailing robes- it's all bright palest green with hints of red. To the right faint green light spreads over the rest of the sky. At the bottom the tops of a row of silhouetted spruce trees.

   I decided to bite the bullet last night: try to learn how to take photos of the #Aurora
   I use lots of settings on my camera, but mostly choosing focus points and adjusting light sensitivity and amount of light- but it's more like choose the effect and camera does the actual settings of aperture and shutter speed! (more in replies)
   So- not great quality, but they give some idea. The camera sees much stronger colours than the eye- I toned them down but still not quite true #photography #Alberta
