aurora borealis seems to rise from behind a row of silhouetted spruce trees, wider at the bottom, it angles inward as it goes up; mostly greenish white at the bottom and deep red-purple higher up blending to black sky above with scattered stars.

   I decided to bite the bullet last night: try to learn how to take photos of the #Aurora
   I use lots of settings on my camera, but mostly choosing focus points and adjusting light sensitivity and amount of light- but it's more like choose the effect and camera does the actual settings of aperture and shutter speed! (more in replies)
   So- not great quality, but they give some idea. The camera sees much stronger colours than the eye- I toned them down but still not quite true #photography #Alberta
