Every time I post noting that FOSS or Mastodon or federation as a concept is not a magic, world-saving bullet, there's trolls.
So here's some proof; things you could federate that would be genuinely useful and not just a "Twitter but if you're a Unix sysadmin you also get to block people en masse"
- Git issue discussions
- Public reviews (products, businesses, podcasts)
- App ratings
- CI/CD
- Person-to-person reviews (specialist sites)
- pastebins
- live data (traffic, weather)
- playlists
