The ZFS (Zettabyte File System), a highly advanced file system, was created by a team of engineers at Sun Microsystems in the early 2000s. The primary person behind ZFS is Jeff Bonwick, a distinguished computer scientist, but the project was a team effort, with significant contributions from Matthew Ahrens, another lead engineer, along with other engineers at Sun Microsystems.
