I don't think people fully grasp just how expensive this AI nonsense is. Each simple Chat-GPT inquiry uses on average a half liter of water and 0.14 kWh.
If one of ten Americans make a weekly inquiry, that's enough water to cover Rhode Island's consumption for a day and a half, and enough electricity to power DC for 20 days.

Por muito que goste da IA Generativa, isto tem de ser discutido e enfrentado - o custo ambiental da corrente tecnologia é demasiado elevado. Os gastos de energia da infraestrutura crescem exponencialmente, os custos ambientais de sobem. E não deixo de me perguntar: vale mesmo a pena esta pegada carbónica para gerar bonecada (geralmente foleira), despachar emails (suprassumo da capacidade humana), produzir aqueles relatórios que ninguém quer realmente ler?
