   you don't have to use money as medium of exchange for it to have value.

   gold hasn't been used -in a large scale- to pay for products and services for thousands of years.

   people use it as store of value.
   same thing for bitcoin.

   bitcoin isn't ready for mass adoption yet, because

   1. it's still too difficult and unsafe -for normies- to manage a non-custodial lightning wallet.

   2. risk of providing custodial wallets -in most countries- is too high.
