EF Brighton cited a never-before-enforced “no slogans” policy to ban the wearing of a Palestine solidarity badge. When we put in a formal complaint, EF responded that other slogans, for other causes, might be permitted, but this one would not be. Neither selective enforcement of policy, curtailing free speech, or repressing moral stances, are ethically, or legally, permissible. Anti-zionism is a protected philosophical belief in UK law. An employer's fear of rocking the boat - during a genocide - does not take primacy over your basic rights to free speech and solidarity. Don't let your boss tell you otherwise. Don't let EF get away with it. teflworkersunion.org
