This is something people kind of ignore: in the United States, some of the most violent people are also (loosely) organized: police unions. Even those they aren't workers in the sense that they protect capital, they've been instrumental in getting their demands met.
This is something that's usually ignored in (white, more center-leaning) leftists circles because it requires challenging their identity (among other things). They can pick up and defend corporations at any time and expect their unions to get a donation in response.
This is something I'm meaning to write more about because it's an important step for us to step up organizing: getting the energy we had in the 1970s back in the United States.
