So Bloomberg translated "weird" as "奇妙 (kimyō)" in Japanese which will do, but loses impact as kimyō comes across as being merely "odd" which doesn't ring alarm bells with the Japanese public. Probably "異常 (ijō)" i.e. "abnormal" would have hit truer.
