   Shotcut is an excellent video editor for beginners with the ability to do fast video editing and simple tasks and effects.

   On the other hand, Blender is centered on 3D animation and video editing is not the focus of the application. Also, editing videos on Blender has a steeper learning curve than with Shotcut.
