Recently a stranger emailed me about a job. (They sent to an address that I had used exclusively with Dice.com more than 10 years ago.)
It was for a "Product Verification and Validation Engineer" in Horicon, WI, and required a 4-year technical degree and many specific skills; seeing no hard floor on years of experience suggested this could be an entry-level position.
I have 7 degrees and beaucoup experience, including roughly 6 months as a contractor doing formal V&V for one of the world's largest technology companies on a very high-profile product that you may have used.
As a contractor, I often go where I'm needed, so I asked what it paid.
"44/hr on W2 max"
That's going to be a tough fit, even at entry level; for someone with a 4-year degree, major Silicon Valley employers set entry level pay at more than twice that, around $97/hour.
Common scammers these days try to get people to work for about half of market rate, and pocket the rest for themselves.
