But unlike Self (or Java, or Ruby, or Smalltalk, or Julia), you don't really *chose* to run a JavaScript program; it just happens.
So in order to view a restaurant menu, you will need to run thousands of lines of code on a runtime that very intentionally made the choice to trade RAM efficiency for speed.
@2something Step 1 is a non-starter. Simulating a complex physical system with complex bifurcation points to an extent that you can accurately make predictions in all cases inherently requires a machine an astronomical number of orders of magnitude larger than the system it's simulating. And because of that, you end up with relativistic limits on the speed at which it can operate, meaning that it will not predict the physical outcome before the outcome happens.
So much of the techno-futurist bullshit is a willful ignorance of fundamental physical limits like this.
Alright, let's do a short #introduction as well. 👋
I'm a professional web dev, mainly because I always believed I'd never have a chance as a game dev. A couple months ago I decided to just have fun, self-study and see what happens.
So far, I got a little Asteroids clone made with #UnrealEngine that I want to expand with Vampire Survivors like features. 🚀
Let's just be kind and considerate because I feel that's what's missing most in this world. 💝
