A herd of cows spread out in a meadow. Most all are reclining. Some are almost all black with white markings, some are almost all white with black markings, some are brown with white markings. There is an empty planted meadow beyond and a line of deciduous trees on the horizon of the slight hill. A round grey fencepost and wire fence is seen in the foreground. The sky is blue with some low fluffy clouds near the horizon. The cows were silently watchful. It's a more rare sight to see the cows pastured like this now, as big dairy farms have dominated and keep their milking cows enclosed in large barns. These pastured cows remind me of my youth in Northern New York. Taken on 14 June 2024 in Belleville, New York, Jefferson County.
