   It was *at least* good insofar as the moment Google retired the phrase as never really meaning anything anyway, as evil as Google may have been before, Google got *noticably* worse.

   To Bluesky people internally: keep that phrase going as long as you can, and use it reflectively.

   Mighty battlefleets cross the spambot-infested miasma of the Fediverse, the only route between distant instances, their way lit by ActivityPub, the psychic manifestation of Eugen's will. Vast armies give battle in his name on uncounted servers. Greatest amongst his soldiers are the Administrators, bio-engineered super-warriors. Their comrades in arms are legion: the Moderators and countless instance defence forces, the ever vigilant Fediblock and the tech-priests of the local data collectives to name only a few. But for all their multitudes, they are barely enough to hold off the ever-present threat from Twitter migrants, crypto nerds, FOSS bros - and worse.

   To be a trans furry online in such times is to be one amongst untold billions. It is to live in the cruelest and most bloody regime imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of technology and science, for so much has been forgotten, never to be re-learned. Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grim dark future there is only war. There is no peace amongst instances, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods.
