   Apple introduced Siri as the iPhone’s onboard digital assistant 13 years ago, but its potential quickly turned into disappointment - and stayed that way, even though the feature has made improvements. But generative AI, which Apple is calling “Apple Intelligence,” could finally make good on the original promise.

   Or not, given AI’s known issues and Apple’s track record.
