   @pkraus The federal government treats the loans as a source of revenue, effectively as a tax.

   It's not about whether you pay any other tax, it's about saying they don't have to pay their taxes in this case even though the government was relying on those revenues to fund government programs.

   Because Tories froze the tax threshold again, another 1.6 million pensioners now pay tax.

   It's not the first time Tories have played that trick to tax more pensioners, either.

   & never, ever forget that these are the same Tories that killed tens of thousands of the elderly with Covid in care homes... & then lied about it... & blamed pensioners for the economic failure that is entirely due to Tory greed & incompetence.

   You can never, never, never trust a Tory.
