Photo of the underside of a giant peacock moth. Its wings are ashy grey- beige and edged white and beige, and with an eye spot in the centre of each of the four wing segments. The fat grey-brown body is furry. It is clinging to the stem of a plant in dense grass/undergrowth.

From yesterday’s walk the biggest moth EVER! Ok the biggest moth in Europe maybe…the giant peacock moth. Difficult to get a clear photo without disturbing it - hand in one photo for scale!
