From a post on Damage Control. The text says "There are a lot of reasons for this happening. Several were mentioned above, but it’s also possible that Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has started overruling Xbox executives over their intentions for the brand. It would certainly explain why Xbox brand president Sarah Bond was woefully unprepared for questions about the business during an interview with Bloomberg mere days after the closures were announced. Microsoft has already warned that these closures aren’t over, so I can’t imagine how employees at developers like Ninja Theory, inXile Entertainment, and Double Fine are feeling right now. The anemic advertising campaign for Ninja Theory’s Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II despite it releasing in mere weeks bodes ill for the studio."

@damagecontrolblog The closures Microsoft made this week will be bad for the Xbox brand in the short term and long term, but there's also the question of whether they'll care about that.
