Yeah idk. I did all the classic happy wife happy life stuff in both my marriages, but the problem is women don't know what they want and they have infinite motivations to leave. If you're a good provider, another guy can always make more than you. If you are assertive, then you're a dominating abusive asshole interfering with her girlboss potential. If you have kids, then she's basically won the lottery and her mom or friends will guide her to lay the groundwork for getting full custody.
I lost count how many divorced men told me the exact stories about how they couldn't figure out what was going on while it was happening, but it was weird how every time their wife's mom/friend visited (witness), their wife would create a huge fight and end up calling the cops. They were secretly collecting receipts for years for the future family court.
I've bought them houses, cars, and full tuitions to college but it's never enough. The only winning move is to not play the game.
