Donald Trump wants to give even more tax breaks to big corporations and the rich while repealing the Affordable Care Act and stripping healthcare from 40 million Americans. MAGA Republicans have a radical plan to ban abortion, limit civil rights, and cut Social Security and Medicare, and they defend Trump’s assault on the Constitution. Joe Biden has a very different plan: strengthen and expand the middle class while defending freedom and democracy. The Biden plan will make billionaires pay their fair share and provide tax credits for ordinary folks, like first-time home buyers. In his first term, Biden ended the Trump recession and jumpstarted the economy with his American Rescue Plan, which delivered $1,400 relief checks, reopened schools, and expanded affordable health coverage, bringing the uninsured rate to a record low. Biden Democrats followed that up with historic investments in U.S. infrastructure and manufacturing, and they also delivered the Inflation Reduction Act, which has brought down prescription drug prices and made record investments in fighting climate change. Under Joe Biden, we have lower inflation and lower unemployment than when Ronald Reagan bragged about “Morning in America” in 1984. It’s a Great American Comeback, with wages rising faster than inflation and the economy adding over 15 million jobs.
