Revolutionary Climate Change Bill set to become law All nine of South Africa’s provinces have adopted the Climate Change Bill and it now needs only President Cyril Ramaphosa’s signature to become law. It is the first piece of legislation in South Africa specifically addressing the effects of climate change and the country’s response to the extreme weather events associated with it. It’s come just in time. A powerful storm recently hit Cape Town, killing at least one person and stranding more than 500 baby turtles of the endangered loggerhead species.
