You're tellin' me that Nazis are still a problem? That folks who think it's okay to hate and discriminate based on skin color, religion, or nationality are still walkin' around? (shakes head) I thought we learned our lesson after WWII. I thought we as a society agreed that racism, anti-Semitism, and fascism were morally repugnant. And now you're tellin' me that folks in the US government, the people we trust to lead ..., are spoutin' this hateful ideology? (outraged) A congresswoman talkin' about killin' her own dog?! That's just... I don't even... (pauses, taking a deep breath) And militarized police attacking students on campus? That's not the America I thought we were buildin'! We're supposed to be about freedom, equality, and justice for all. Not suppressin' dissent and hurtin' our own kids! (looks you straight in the eye) You know, when I was growin' up, we learned about the dangers of fascism and totalitarianism in school. We thought we were better than that, that we'd learned from history. But I guess some folks just didn't get the memo. (sighs) I don't know what the answer is, but I know we gotta do better. We gotta stand up against hate and intolerance, no matter who's spewin' it. We gotta protect our kids, our communities, and our future. (pauses, looking for the right words) I reckon what I'm tryin' to say is... we can't let the hatred and fear win. We gotta be the ones standin' up for what's right, even when it's hard. We gotta be the light in the darkness.
