Big Issue: Jim Ratcliffe: does he pay more tax than immigrants?
Worth some £17 billion, Ratcliffe is an immigrant himself – the British billionaire moved to Monaco in 2020. Ratcliffe was previously one of Britain’s biggest taxpayers before the move. But residents in the tax haven city state do not have to pay any income or property taxes, means he pays £0 in personal income tax in the UK.
It has been widely reported that the move could lead to £4 billion in tax savings for Ratcliffe, one of Britain’s richest men.

The new visitor centre at Hull's North End Shipyard has officially achieved Passivhaus certification, making it one of the most energy-efficient cultural buildings in the UK.
It will eventually house the Arctic Corsair, the city’s last remaining sidewinder trawler.
I receive regular versions of "religion is to blame" in my mentions on a regular basis.
I will again remind people that I saw bigotries just as hateful and virulent rise up in the white/cis/het dominated environs of New Atheism, as I did in the nominally christian home that I grew up in.
I'll remind people of the virulent racism, xenophobia, transphobia, and other sundry myriad bigotries that currently flourish in the secular UK.
It's not religion. That's not the problem.
Humans are.
@clacksee @bookstodon Starship teapot book? I am in the UK.
It sounds weird, which is exactly my bag.
