NY Times blog post: The Philadelphia police asked residents not to call 911 unless they had an emergency to report. Joe Grace, a spokesman for Mayor Cherelle L. Parker, said the request was made because of the large number of calls coming in after the quake. Grace said city officials were checking Philadelphia's municipal buildings but had so far found no damage.
