   Earlier this year I decided to react to the chatbot insanity griping the entire tech industry by studying. I am extremely proud of the work I did in the past few months because I learned a lot while doing it. I'm a better professional than I was six months ago and I'm completely comfortable dealing with complex topics I found daunting only a year ago.

   As people around you deliberately deskill themselves, do the opposite. It will pay off, believe me, it always does.

   Also Durov made his fortune from VK (a major social network in Russia 🇷🇺). He was well off before enraging Putin by refusing to remove posts criticizing the dictator & Kremlin. This has been documented by media & bloggers many years ago.

   As far as Telegram goes, “secret chat” encryption is great. Regular chat is not. That is known.

   I wrote this ⬆️ a few years ago.

   As the fallout from the #XZ hack reverberates, expect to see people calling for a "real name" policy for contributors to critical infrastructure.

   But, as I explain, there are several practical problems with that.
