From my timeline just now. A post by Michael Whelan that reads: THE WHITE DRAGON (1978) Acrylic on Masonite - 20" X 30" Although this is the third book in the series, this was my first Pern cover, and I was determined to create the dragons as faithfully to Anne McCaffrey's description as possible. The bottom of the post, where the image of Whelan’s white dragon painting would be, is cut off. Above it is another post, not by Michael Whelan, featuring a My Little Pony fan art. A pony holds a chain in its mouth, which is connected to a shackle around a white dragon’s neck. The dragon looks mildly pissed off. It does not seem like an accurate depiction of the Pern dragons.
