A student just passed this along, so apologies if it’s already done the rounds. It’s quite an achievement to spell a two-letter word incorrectly, but here we are.
This is pretty common type of #scymraeg and the cause is obvious: san serif fonts + not bothering to check with an actual Welsh speaker before sending the text to the sign maker.
The Welsh for ‘ice’ is ‘iâ’, but Iâ (uppercase i) and lâ (lowercase L) are difficult to tell apart.
