Today in the US is Presidents Day, a sort of nebulous holiday celebrating the birthdays of Washington and Lincoln. These two presidents were born about 70 years apart, Washington before the advent of photography and Lincoln afterwards.
The earliest known photograph of Lincoln, taken when he was just a Congressman-elect, is on Flickr Commons, courtesy of the Library of Congress.
