The aurora borealis creates a spectacular display over Fairbanks, Alaska, with a ribbon of bright green light snaking through the dark December sky. The aurora's glow is framed by snow-covered spruce trees on either side, their branches heavy with a thick layer of snow. Stars twinkle faintly in the background.
