Every time I work with beech my tools feel like they've never ever seen a sharpening stone.
But today I tried to dampen the edge of the wood with water before planing it. Same blade, no sharpening in between. And suddenly I get long, fluffy shavings without much effort; the difference is like night and day 🤯
