It just occurred to me that the Forbes article uses a stock photo of a hand holding up a smartphone with a bunch of apps from mainstream, for-profit social media... even if the piece is about the #Fediverse.
So on my to do list for today: recreating a similar photo showing Fediverse software instead. Like, how my actual phone looks like.
As a photographer, I feel it's my duty to do this.
I will give the pic a CC BY-ND license. Thoughts?
And fellow photographers will you join in?
If anyone is wondering, here's what 50 Hz and 60 Hz ground hums sound like.
As a European, yes, that 50 Hz hum does sound viscerally far more familiar! But I would not notice if lights in a film sound "wrong". If anything, they'd just sound like "film lights", I suppose.

It also has a 400 Hz A/C "hum" and a comment seems to be suggesting that happens in electrical systems on airplanes?
