"Never forget, the only one holding back your potential potential is you!" - Futurist Jim Carroll

    We all have potential.

It's what you do with that fact that matters.

I know far too many people who give up on their potential. It's easy to do - there are so many things in the way. And yet, by doing so, they never see the potential in their potential. Yes, I mean to use the word twice!

I know in far too many cases I haven't accomplished what I might have accomplished if I had just pushed a little harder. I'm aware that the potential in our potential can often be one of our greatest untapped assets, and if we recognize it for what it is, we can push ourselves a little further.

    Think about it!

We all have the potential to chase our dreams.

    To learn new things.

    To try bold ideas.

    To take big risks.

    To develop new skills.

And in doing so, to achieve our wildest imagination.

We all have the potential to care about others.

    To serve our communities.

To stand up for what's right.

    To call out what's wrong.

    To heal and help.

To help those who are weak.

And to try to get help from those who are strong.

And to imagine brighter futures for everyone.

    To persist through setbacks.

    To persevere when tired.

    To overcome the big obstacles.

And to thrive in the uncertainty.

    To rebuild what's broken.

    To restart after failure.

    To unlearn the bad habits.

    And develop better ones.

    To pivot when needed.

    To prioritize what matters.

    To challenge ourselves more.

And to believe we can do it.

    To commit to our goals.

    To hope and act.

    To finish what we started.

And to abandon what we shouldn't have.

    To start when necessary.

    To start right now!

    ----

Futurist Jim Carroll is a big believer that everyone has potential in their potential!

If you don't use Bing with Edge, Microsoft will tell you your computer needs repairing.

    https://www.tomsguide.com/computing/windows-operating-systems/microsoft-now-says-your-pc-is-in-need-of-repair-if-youre-not-using-bing-with-edge

    They are not wrong.

    To mend your machine:

    1. Ditch Windows
    2. Install Plasma
    3. Your computer is ready.

@homegrown Maybe it's both. Content discovery on small and single user servers wouldn't work without a relay, so it's very useful. But it's my understanding that it pulls posts from servers using an interface intended for apps and users, not for relays, so it may relay posts from servers whose admins didn't intend to push to a relay. But I'm fuzzy on the details, so I may be wrong.

To help with content discovery there are other types of relays and there are also services like newsmast that are slightly more curated.

@freemo > The issue is the horrible ideas you think get you there.

I am curious as to what you think those are. I don’t remember uttering any concrete steps of action in the near past.

You have often argued that people should not be able to have success as the result of “randomness”

To clarify: i am aware that randomness is a part of every success, by the very nature of our reality. I merely wish that returns would not snowball limitlessly, as humans are not good at determining a reasonable “enough”.

the value of that effort (Which is partly a factor of skill) is what determines your pay, and should

    I agree, though still bounded.
In everyday conditions, working any job that depends on individual skill and available material, that should be fine. I sense problems when a success is an amalgamation of multiple peoples work, as correct attribution is not a base feature of reality but something that has to be done on top. Example would be the slums of workers commonly found in front of amazon warehouses. They do have the skill to do what is needed (as they are not fired), yet do not earn enough to live a dignified life. It follows for me that attribution of skill contribution went wrong.

To note, in that last example i did not propose concrete steps to take, i merely pointed out what i find problematic.
