Set up his own Catholic priestly fraternity that carried on the pre-V2 mass, catechism, and teaching in 1970 as v2 changes were rolled out. Mainstream Catholicism will just accept the gay marriage.    It could be the thing that survives V2 changes and runs the church 200 years from now That's how this kind of thing works.
