   The movie knows this, and does not get itself bogged down in such nonsense as trying to have layers for the grown-ups or a cynical edge or a subtle layer of cinematic craft or a central point or (god forbid) a Deeper Message. It does not aspire to be respected. It has the single-mindedness of a candy manufacturer: it knows •exactly• what it is, and dammit, hell with you all, it’s going to •be• that — right down to the color saturation settings in post-production.

   It knows itself. Respect.
