   Escalante National Monument Park,, Utah It's called a Cosmic Ashtray. It's been formed into a crater filled with sand by wind erosion, 200 feet wide, a 60 ft pinnacle in the center. The sandstone contains much iron ore so the red color comes from the water erosion turning it a rusty color which is beautiful.
