ICE incidents kill four people in a week.
In one incident, ICE scares a tourist enough that he runs into traffic and is killed by a truck.

Hey everyone,
I wish I could say I was going to introduce you to some new families from Gaza today but, unfortunately (and for the first time ever) we haven’t been able to run any verification calls. It’s quite possible that there’s an Internet outage/slow-down in parts of Gaza right now (beyond the usual).
We will attempt to reschedule the calls for later on in the week.
In the meanwhile, do remember that the folks at Gaza Verified do need your ongoing support. The ceasefire has not fundamentally altered life in Gaza. They still cannot afford basic necessities and aid is still not getting in.
And thank you all again for your wonderful support of our friends and families in Gaza. You have definitely shown up when they needed you and I know you will to the best of your abilities going forward.
💕
Leaders at the #Pentagon have significantly altered how #military officials will speak with #Congress after a pair of new memos issued last week.
In an Oct 15 memo, #Defense Sec #PeteHegseth & his deputy, Steve Feinberg, ordered Pentagon officials—including the chair of the #JointChiefs of Staff—to obtain permission from the dept’s main legislative affairs office before they have ANY communication with Capitol Hill.

They talk about multiple sites (the photos appear to show at least two, one looks like a residential apartment and the other an office) "within 35 miles of the UN". That's a pretty big area that includes all of the NYC metro area, which has a lot of other important stuff besides the UN in it. Perhaps some other intel links it to UNGA week.
In any case, if the goal is anonymity, restricting the nodes to one metropolitan area would be odd. So was this just part of a larger network, or what?

Good morning Fedi friends!
I'm currently working on part 2 of my post about #PeerTube – this time from the POV of a creator. Aiming to publish it later this week.
In other news: I may have just botched my at-home haircut (yes, I've been cutting my own hair since the Covid days) so I need to learn how to style my hair with "beach waves" to cover up my mistakes. Let's see if my daughter, husband or my parents (over FaceTime) notice anything 😅 🤣
More than 660 Jews have called on the Metropolitan Police to reverse a ban on a planned pro-Palestine protest assembling at the BBC in London later this week.
In a statement, the Jewish Voice for Labour (JVL) group criticized the ban as bowing to "partisan campaigning aimed at preventing peaceful and lawful assembly."
The groups said that the police had faced "strong pressure from pro-Israel organisations" opposed to rally.
