   Their rip off pricing for ‘renewable’ energy is the reason we’re now with Octopus.

   Slagging off heat pumps because you’re invested in fossil fuels (what bio methane is) is the height of wankerish behaviour.

   No wonder he’s a Labour backer.

   @lana CFCs had an existing replacement at little extra cost to companies and required no change to consumer behaviour.

   It was easy for voters to vote for 'make the companies pay a bit extra to fix that problem'.

   Tackling climate change requires a big cost to large corporations, a massive change in consumer behaviour and quite possibly the downfall of capitalism. It's just not the same scale of problem.

   Climate action legislation has already been the downfall of governments around the world.

   Effective legislation hasn't been popular with voters. Partly due to fossil fuel lobbying, but also due to requiring even small changes in consumer behaviour.

   No government would survive restricting flights and driving and outlawing suburban housing developments.
