   This is actually the second lace pattern I came up with for Vox; the first turned out to be an existing stitch pattern designed by someone else. I’ve seen it, and friends have knit shawls with it. Unknowingly coming up with the same pattern by accident is one thing, but I didn’t feel comfortable with it since I knew.

   As it happens, I’m glad that I had to start over, because I like both stitch patterns a lot, and now there’s two instead of just one.
