   BTW, Alcohol was such a huge disappointment.

   I still remember being insanely depressed in my 18, and trying to reach this mythical "forget about all your issues" state.

   I live in South Carolina, so I do not see much hope in explaining reality to the rest of the state.

   It is a nice place to live, if you can ignore the stench of the politics, and the evangelicals, and the residual racism, and ...

   Israel, having been so close to apartheid South Africa, realised the very real threat that BDS posed to the existence of Israel as a racist occupying state.

   It created the Strategic Affairs dept specifically to counter the BDS movement.

   Its strategy was to ensure that any criticism of Israel was framed as equivalent to anti-Semitism.

   Accusing critics of Israel of anti-Semitism deflects attention from what matters.

   @freemo Hmm, so I kinda agree with this too, but I’d put this in the “seeing” state.

   It’s interesting, being “on break” kind puts your relationship in an asynchronous state. Like, it kinda exists, but you’re not engaging in it. It’s like pausing one game on a #PS5 to play another on your #NintendoSwitch. You still need to go back to it to turn it off/end it but it almost doesn’t matter since it’s on pause, you can do whatever.
