Water shouldn't get in there, but the seal specs from a Jeep Wrangler and a Honda civic will not behave the same in off road conditions. 4y Reply Silona Bonewald So you have researched how Tesla handles it? There would have been many fires in Houston if this was true.

Per https://mastodon.social/@danluu/111259147243696579, I find consumer preferences about cars to be quite funny, so I'm not reading much into this, at least w.r.t. rational preferences.
People used to tell me all sorts of objectively incorrect reasons they bought Teslas, e.g., hydroplaning.
I've never hydroplaned because you have to drive too fast for conditions to hydroplane. To the extent this is about the vehicle, it's about the tires and the weight/tire width ratio/tire pressure, with the former being dominant.
