Daily Global Surface Temperature Anomaly chart with a reference period of 1850-1900 (pre-industrial) temperatures. The temperature anomaly in 2023 has trended upward, starting at a little under 1.5°C, rising rapidly throughout November to reach 2.06°C. The rise is a marked departure from previous years, where global temperatures have previously only risen to 1.5°C, showing that at least compared to the past century-and-a-half we are entering uncharted territory.
