* Full duplication of the existing database and fileserver RAID will be made to new hardware preserving mastodon.sdf.org as it will be on Nov 23rd, 2023 at 00:00:00 UTC. * The database reconcile and migration to v4.2.x will then be performed on the new harware, not the old hardware. It should also be noted that the new hardware has several performance benefits such as a faster RAID, double the number of cores and memory. It should out perform the lab environment. * In the unlikely event the migration cannot proceed we will simply bring the v4.1.x site back online as it will be preserved as of Nov 23rd, 2023 00:00:00 and continue operating as is. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we make our way to the exciting new features in Mastodon v4.2.x - This work will also allow for easier migrations to future releases as well as improved day to day maintenance and clean up of the database going forward.
